It is such a joy to be going through this little child phase of life with my sister-n-law, and so sweet to watch our kids - who are 10 weeks and 6 months apart in age, begin to interact and enjoy each other. Marit and Songbird, as they have both recently turned 2, are beginning to actually "play" together every once in a while.
Every morning Songbird is one of the first to rise. After we bring her down the long steps into the kitchen, she quickly asks about Brother, Marit, Graham, Aunt Ellen, and Uncle Adam - always wanting to keep tabs on everyone, and looking forward to being surrounded by some of her favorite people. We are having to work hard on teaching her "gentle hands" when it comes to expressing her affection towards other little people, as in her enthusiasm she is apt to knock down and run over. But she is slowly learning. Songbird is an extreme extrovert and people person at this stage in her life, whereas Marit is much more introverted - often retreating to her own space and her own thoughts. Though there is a lot for both of them to learn as far as loving each other well, I think they will be good for each other in the long run.
So far, Graham and Reed seem to have a few main comonalities - namely drooling, chewing, smiling, and grunting. I look forward to watching them grow up together, but for the meantime am trying to cuddle with them as much as possible.

That's all for now. It's 9:30 and the kids are all sweetly tucked away. Hubry and I are waiting up for Adam and Ellen to return home with their new puppy!
