Monteagle

One of my close friends in middle and high school, Anna, had a family tradition of spending the week of the 4th of July at the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly in Monteagle, TN (6 miles from the University of the South, or Sewanee). Probably at least 4 different Summers I had the honor of tagging along with the family as the surrogate daughter. Her aunt owned a cottage in the assembly and her family rented different ones each year. It was always such a fun week of hiking, gentle climbing, sometimes rafting or canoeing, etc. I always looked forward to the slow pace of life, fresh air, and beautiful scenery that came along with this week...

This past Saturday we dropped the youngins off with my parents in Chattanooga and took the babe up the mountain of memories in order to celebrate the marriage of Anna and Adam at Warren's Point. It was a beautiful Fall day with a chilly wind, and it was sweeter than I expected to reunite with a few of my high school friends. I didn't take too many photos, but these help demonstrate the beauty of the day...
